Conventional Coating Pan
Conventional Coating Pan
As the name implies, the Conventional Coating Pan is used for coating a film or sugar on a food product, a pharmaceutical-grade tablet and related materials. The product coating is done by blowing hot and cold air. However, the heating system works in line with the air-blow system for safer operations.
The cluster of tablets is put into the slightly tilted coating pan, which is also filled with the coating solution. The electric engine rotates the pan, and the tablets tumble upon each other and the solution for a predefined time to ensure uniform coating.

FAQs
The Conventional Coating Pan primarily offers film and sugar forms of coating in the pharma industry. However, other types of coatings are Enteric, Aqueous film and Non-Aqueous coating.
Yes, unwanted air will escape through the front segment. However, basic ingredients in some medicines might break down if the air inlet throws extremely hot air when the temperature is not controlled.
The steps in sugar coating are sealing, smoothening and subcoating. Then, a suitable colour is applied to the product, and it is polished before printing.
The tablets require a coating to be protected from chemical and physical damage and a change in taste.
The medicines can be coated with a plasticizer, solvent, polymer or colourant.
